Incredible footage from the cockpit of a 525B CitationJet CJ3 Private Jet (Registration : D-CEFD) on approach to runway 25 at Cork Airport, Ireland. Visibility was excellent at the time as you can see in the footage. This private charter flight originated in Stuttgart, Germany which is the home base of this aircraft which is operated by Stuttgarter Flugdienst GmbH. This aircraft was manufactured in 2006 and can carry 7 passengers. It’s range is 1860 nautical miles with an average cruising speed of 461mph.

Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, Qatar Executive, is showcasing its Bombardier Global 5000 business jet at this week’s Singapore Air Show, the largest aerospace event in Asia. The Global 5000 jet, which is on static display for the entire show, is part of Qatar Executive’s wholly-owned Bombardier fleet of six long-range business jets. The former borders chief is to be questioned by MPs amid new claims passports for people on private jets were not checked. Brodie Clark, who resigned last week after a 40-year career at the Home Office, will appear before the Home Affairs Committee. Mr Clark is expected to say he only acted to relax border checks because he was required to do so by police to stop overcrowding. His appearance comes after a UK Border Agency (UKBA) official leaked emails claiming some passengers arriving on private charter flights did not face any passport or customs checks. The official, working at Durham Tees Airport, voiced concerns to management at the UKBA that his staff did not even see some of the passengers. He was told the “no-checks policy” was part of a “new national General Aviation Strategy being rolled out” and that the policy at his airport was “consistent with national policy”. The whistleblower wrote: “As we are not allowed to physically see the passengers… we have no way of checking whether the handling agent information is correct or even if the number of people arriving matches the number we have been advised. “It is creating a situation where we are not able to secure the borders as robustly as we would like to, for no justifiable reason.” The apparent relaxation seemed to be an attempt to tackle the volume of passengers going through checks. Honda decided to go with an unusual over-the-wing podded engine configuration, a feature developed on the innovative Vereinigte Flugtechnische Werke VFW-614 decades earlier, which allows for more space within the fuselage and reduction of drag at higher speeds. The fuselage itself is made from lightweight composite materials, while the wings are made from structurally reinforced single sheets of aluminum. The use of a single sheet allows for a smoother surface than more conventional methods. Honda claims that the combination of lightweight materials, aerodynamics and the efficient engines gives the HondaJet a 30-35% higher fuel efficiency than similar aircraft. Honda began developing its own small turbofan engine, the HF118, in 1999. This led to the evolution of the HF120, which was developed with GE Aviation under the GE Honda partnership, and was test-flown on a Cessna Citation and on a modified Boeing 727-100. The engine features a single fan, a two-stage compressor and a two-stage turbine. Further design testing on wing shape and design were done on a T-33 Shooting Star, modified by AVTEL Services, Inc, and flight tested at the Mojave Airport.
