I’m 21 and I own 36ft fishing boat (1-6 Fishers + 3 Crew) that I’m wanting to use for "small private fishing charters". I live in Navarre, FL (Destin Area). Is there any special permits, licenses, .etc that I need to apply to do this? Only reason I’m really doing this is I regularly take out customers from my families company but there is hardly any money involved other then tips + gas.
You need to consider several things before starting a charter fishing business like licenses, boat, security, gears and pricing.
Choosing a boat –It would best if your boat is over 25 feet and got a good engine. Customers would definitely want a boat that would take time to bring them to what they love to do and that is to fish. A cooler is good to have especially for your client’s who might want to bring food and drinks
